Best vehicle valuation data for Canada (2026)
Last updated:
Five vehicle valuation and market price data APIs for Canada compared on what they return, Canadian currency and units, published pricing and access, with every claim linked.
Cardog is first on this list. It serves Canadian listings in CAD and kilometres, and market quotes that give the median, quartiles, best price and days on market for a model year or build configuration, with the live listing count behind every number and daily price history. The same key decodes 99.77% of Canadian VINs to trim and lists Transport Canada and NHTSA recalls, and prices are published from US$30 a month with a free plan. The other sources on the list are Canadian Black Book, MarketCheck Price, VinAudit Market Values and CarsXE Market Value; each is summarized below from its own public pages.
This page is written by Cardog, and Cardog is on the list, so read it with that in mind. Every claim about another company links to that company's own public page, and we checked those pages on 2026-10-27. Every Cardog claim is something our API serves today.
How we evaluated
"Valuation" covers two different things, and each vendor serves its own mix:
- Book values. Wholesale, trade-in, retail or residual values for one vehicle from its details.
- Market prices. Statistics over live asking prices for a slice of the market, such as a model year.
For each source we asked:
- Canada. Does the vendor's own page say it answers for Canada, in CAD or kilometres?
- What comes back. Book values, market statistics, or both, and is the sample size shown?
- Pricing transparency. A published price, or pricing by contact?
- Access. Self-serve key, or sales-led?
We only used each vendor's own public pages. We did not sign up for paid accounts or compare numbers for the same vehicle across vendors.

- Canadian listings by default. CAD and kilometres without a parameter.
- The quote is a key, not a dead end. The same refs open the VIN decode, Transport Canada and NHTSA recalls and spec sheets.
