Cardog is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We comply with applicable privacy laws including PIPEDA in Canada and state privacy laws in the U.S.
Information We Collect
Account Information. When you register, we collect your email address, name, and profile information. If you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from those providers.
Vehicle Data. When you add vehicles to your Garage, we collect vehicle identifiers such as VIN, license plate, make/model/year, and any registration details you provide. We also record your location if you enable it for market analysis.
Payment Information. We collect billing information through third-party processors when you subscribe. We do not store your full credit card number; payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant vendors.
Usage and Analytics. We log technical data (device type, OS version, IP address, app version) and usage data (pages viewed, features used, timestamps) to operate and improve our Services.
AI Interactions. Your interactions with our AI assistant are recorded to provide the service. These logs may be used in aggregated, de-identified form to improve our models.
Communications. If you contact support, we collect your correspondence details and any information you provide.
How We Use Your Information
Service Delivery. To operate our automotive search engine, provide AI assistance, manage your vehicle information, and deliver personalized insights and maintenance reminders.
Personalization. To provide customized recommendations, market analysis for your region, and relevant vehicle listings based on your preferences and usage patterns.
Communication. To send account-related messages, maintenance reminders, and optional marketing communications (you can opt out anytime).
Legal Compliance. To comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and protect our users and services.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
Service Providers. Trusted third-party vendors who assist with operations (cloud hosting, customer support, analytics, payment processing) under strict contractual protections.
Automotive Data Sources. We obtain vehicle specifications and market data from industry sources but do not share your personal information with them.
Legal Requirements. When required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety of users.
Business Transfers. In the event of a merger or acquisition, with appropriate notice and protections.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide our Services or as required by law. You may request deletion of your data at any time, and we will comply except for information we're required to keep for legal reasons.
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
- Vehicle data: Retained while vehicles remain in your Garage
- Usage data: Up to 3 years for analytics and improvement
- Support communications: Up to 5 years for ongoing assistance
Your Privacy Rights
Access and Correction. You may request access to your personal information and corrections of any inaccuracies.
Deletion. You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal limitations.
Data Portability. Where technically feasible, you may request a machine-readable export of your data.
Marketing Opt-Out. You can opt out of marketing communications via unsubscribe links or account settings.
AI Training Opt-Out. You can opt out of having your data used for AI training by contacting privacy@cardog.ai.
Location Controls. You can control location data collection through your device and app settings.
State-Specific Rights:
Canadian Residents: Rights under PIPEDA and provincial privacy laws, including access, correction, and complaint rights.
California Residents: Rights under CCPA/CPRA including right to know, delete, and opt out of sale of personal information.
Other U.S. States: Similar rights under applicable state privacy laws (Virginia CDPA, Colorado CPA, etc.).
Security
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption for data in transit and at rest
- Access controls and authentication
- Regular security assessments
- Employee training on privacy practices
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.
Cookies and Tracking

Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
Mobile Platform Privacy Requirements
Apple App Store Privacy. If you download our app from the Apple App Store, the following privacy practices apply:

- Data collection purposes are described in Section 2
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- You can request data deletion as described in Section 5
- Location data collection requires your explicit permission and can be controlled in iOS Settings
Google Play Store Privacy. If you download our app from Google Play:
- Our data safety practices are disclosed in the Google Play Store listing
- We follow Google Play's data handling requirements
- You can control app permissions through Android Settings
- Data sharing with third parties is limited to service providers as described in Section 3
Platform-Specific Data Collection. When you use our mobile apps, we may collect:
- Device identifiers for app functionality and analytics
- Push notification tokens for service communications
- App usage analytics through platform-provided frameworks
- Crash reporting data to improve app stability
Platform Privacy Controls. Both iOS and Android provide privacy controls that you can use:
