1977-78 CHRYSLER CORDOBA, DODGE CHARGER SE AND DODGE MAGNUM VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH T-BAR ROOF AND GLASS PANELS. THE ROOF GLASS PANELS MANUFACTURED BY AMERICAN SUN ROOF MAY SEPARATE FROM THEIR FRAME DUE TO A FAILURE OF THE ADHESIVE. A GLASS PANEL SEPARATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS MAY CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND ALSO PRESENTS A HAZARD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
VEHICLES IN THE FOLLOWING COMBINATIONS: 1975-77 WITH 225 CID SINGLE BARREL ENGINES OR 1976-77 WITH 225/318 CID TWO BARREL ENGINES WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. THE VEHICLES HAVE A POTENTIAL FOR PERSISTENT ENGINE STALLING UNDER CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS DUE TO A DISTORTION IOF THE CARBURETOR ACCELERATOR PUMP SEAL AND/OR A MALFUNCTION OF THE COOLANT CONTROLLED EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE SWITCH.
THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK LATCH MAY BE DEFECTIVE SO THAT THE SEAT BACK MAY NOT REMAIN LOCKED DURING RAPID DECELERATION.
WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES IS DEPRESSED AND THE ACCELERATOR PUMP IS ACTIVATED, A DISTORTED ACCELERATOR PUMP SEAL IN THE CARBURETOR MAY PREVENT THE PUMP FROM DELIVERING THE PROPER AMOUNT OF FUEL.
DEALER WILL REPLACE THE CARBURETOR ACCELERATOR PUMP SEAL WITH A SEAL OF IMPROVED DISTORTION RESISTANCE. THE CARBURETOR WILL ALSO BE CHECKED FOR THE PROPER FLOAT LEVEL.
THE INVOLVED VEHICLES DO NOT CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 207, "SEATING SYSTEMS". THE SELF-LOCKING LATCH THAT RETAINS THE DRIVER"S SEAT IN ITS UPRIGHT POSITION UNDER VEHICLE IMPACT CONDITIONS MAY FAIL DUE TO IMPROPER HEAT-TREATMENT.
DEALER WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER"S SEAT BACK LATCH AND ENSURE PROPER OPERATION OF THE SELF-LOCKING DEVICE, WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.
