Issue: On certain vehicles, the pivot bolts in the height adjuster assembly for the front seats may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the bolt(s) could loosen and detach. If this happens, the seat(s) could move in a crash. Safety Risk: A seat that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the pivot bolts.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could leak coolant. If this happens, the block heater could short circuit when it's plugged in. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to use the engine block heater until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the block heater.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start and the check engine light may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display or to freeze when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the SYNC software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 22C27 (Transport Canada recall no. 2022-636) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. Under certain conditions when the vehicle is operated in 4WD-Low (4L) mode, the rearview camera image could reappear on the display after shifting out of reverse. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with an 8-inch display. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that displays when the vehicle is not in reverse may confuse or distract the driver. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update for the SYNC module to each vehicle. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the SYNC display screen. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-477. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the rearview camera, and modify the camera wire retention as necessary. Some Transit models will also require a software update.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the mounting flange between the external reservoirs and the rear shock absorbers may corrode and fail. If this happens, the external reservoir(s) could detach from the vehicle. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers. Safety Risk: An external reservoir that detaches from the vehicle could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rear shock absorbers. The dealer will apply an anti-corrosion sealant and install a shield, or replace the shock absorbers, as necessary.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label lists the wrong maximum weight of occupants and cargo. Specifically, for Bronco and Super Duty models, the cargo capacity (payload) may have been calculated incorrectly. For the Ranger models, the weight of vehicle options may have been entered incorrectly. As a result, the vehicle could be overloaded. Canadian regulations require companies to print the maximum weight of occupants and cargo on the tire and loading information label. Safety Risk: Incorrect information about the vehicle's weight capacity could lead to overloading and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will mail a new tire and loading information label to each owner. If you would like help to install it, you can contact a Ford dealer to have it installed free of charge.
Issue: On certain vehicles, there may not be enough space between the side of the seat and the interior trim to reach the latch plate for the front seat belt. As a result, it may be difficult to use the seat belts. Note: This recall only affects 5-door models. Safety Risk: Not wearing a seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to install a sliding clip on each front seat belt. This clip will help to reposition the seat belt latch plate. The dealer will also provide an owner's manual update with instructions for how to use the sliding clip correctly.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the software update that was installed by a Ford dealer during recall 22C27 (Transport Canada recall number 2022-636) may not be effective. As a result, a second repair is required. Under certain conditions when the vehicle is operated in 4WD-Low (4L) mode, the rearview camera image could reappear on the display after shifting out of reverse. Note: This recall doesn't affect vehicles that received an over-the-air software update for the SYNC module as a part of recall 22C27.
