Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the electronic brake booster (EBB) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the EBB could enter a failsafe mode and cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force. This could also cause certain advanced driver assistance systems not to work properly. Safety Risk: A sudden increase in brake pedal force can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, driver assistance systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the EBB.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument panel cluster not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales. Safety Risk: Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster module software.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the pivot bolts in the height adjuster assembly for the front seats may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the bolt(s) could loosen and detach. If this happens, the seat(s) could move in a crash. Safety Risk: A seat that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the pivot bolts.

Summary

Issue: Certain vehicles may not meet the minimum stopping requirements of Canadian regulations. In particular, the vehicle may have an extended stopping distance if there is a loss of power brake assist. Note: This recall does not affect vehicles with an electronic brake booster (EBB). This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2021-727. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the front brake pads.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could leak coolant. If this happens, the block heater could short circuit when it's plugged in. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to use the engine block heater until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the block heater.

Summary

Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the electronic brake booster motor to shut down. If this happens, there could be a sudden increase in brake pedal force. This could also cause certain driver assistance systems not to work properly. Note: This problem would cause the antilock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC) and brake warning lights to turn on, warning messages to display in the instrument cluster and a warning chime to sound. Safety Risks: A sudden increase in brake pedal force can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, driver assistance systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the electronic brake booster module software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the left-rear door may be opened from the inside when the child safety lock is in the ''ON'' position. Note: This recall only affects 4-door models. Safety Risk: A child safety lock that doesn't work correctly could allow a door to be opened from inside the vehicle and could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the left-rear door latch.
