Summary
Issue: On certain vehicles, the cells inside the high-voltage battery module(s) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the battery could overheat. Safety Risk: A battery that overheats can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Volkswagen advises that you should set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80%, that you shouldn't use level 3 quick charging and that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-voltage battery module(s).

Safety Risk: A loss of control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the affected bolt(s) on the chassis, brake system and/or suspension.
Summary
Issue: Under certain circumstances, a software problem could cause the ''N'' (Neutral) gear position not to display on the instrument cluster. As a result, you may not be aware when the transmission is in neutral. If his happens, and brakes or parking brake aren't used, the vehicle could roll away. Note: For the Q4 e-tron model, this recall affects both SUV and Sportback models. Safety Risk: A vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, the company recommends that you should use the parking brake and confirm the parking brake indicator light is on when you park. The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the brake control unit software.

Issue: On certain vehicles, after shifting into reverse or manually activating the parking function, the rearview camera image may not display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the camera control unit.

Issue: On certain vehicles, water could leak into the door handle(s). If this happens, the door(s) could open unexpectedly while driving. Note: This problem could cause a clicking noise that sounds like a door being locked or unlocked. Safety Risk: A door that opens while driving could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the door handles. The dealer will also update the vehicle software.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the nuts that secure the passenger-front airbag inflator may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the airbag may not inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Issue: On certain vehicles, the material of the roller sunshade for the panoramic sunroof may not meet the flammability requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: In a fire, fabric that doesn't meet flammability requirements could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to apply a flame retardant on the roller sunshade.
