Issue: On certain trucks, the driver's side mirror glass may not be attached properly. As a result, the mirror glass could fall off. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a heated trailer tow mirror. Safety Risk: A missing mirror will reduce rear visibility and could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the driver side mirror glass.
Issue: On certain trucks, a problem with the steering column control module could cause a turn signal not to turn off after signaling and completing a turn. Safety Risk: Turn signals that stay on after making a turn or changing lanes could create confusion for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering column control module.
Issue: On certain trucks, a software problem could cause the electronic stability control (ESC) system not to work. As a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Note: This problem would cause warning lights for the antilock braking system (ABS), ESC, adaptive cruise control (ACC), and forward collision warning (FCW) to appear on the instrument panel. Safety Risk: An electronic stability control system that doesn't work could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the antilock braking system (ABS) control module software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the transmission control unit (TCU) may not be sealed properly. As a result, transmission fluid could leak into the unit. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the vehicle is parked and the parking brake isn't applied, the vehicle could roll away. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the valve body and control unit.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering column control module may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the driver-front airbag may not inflate in a crash. Note: This problem would cause the airbag warning light to turn on. Safety Risk: An airbag that is turned off could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering column control module.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem with the steering control module could cause a turn signal not to turn off or to flash briefly in the opposite direction after making a turn or changing lanes. This problem could also cause the high beams to turn on when a turn signal is activated, or a turn signal to turn on when the high beams are turned on. Safety Risk: Turn signals that stay on or flash in the opposite direction after making a turn or changing lanes could create confusion for others. High beams that turn on when a turn signal is activated could cause reduced visibility and/or glare for oncoming drivers. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your vehicle to a dealer to update the steering control module software. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the module.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the radio software.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.0 L diesel engine, the high-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, you may notice a change in engine performance, a fuel leak, or a malfunction indicator lamp and/or service electronic throttle control tell-tale may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-pressure fuel pump. Additional fuel system parts may be replaced, if necessary.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a trailer reverse steering module (TRSCM), the rearview camera image may not appear on the display when backing-up. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the trailer reverse steering control module software.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Ram 1500 vehicles. The driver's side air bag may not be connected properly, which can cause the air bag not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
A driver's side air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.
Dealers secured the connectors for the air bag, free of charge. All vehicles have been remedied. Owner notification letters were mailed May 27, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 08C.
