Issue: On certain vehicles, the airbag warning labels are located on the headliner under the sun visors. Canadian regulations require information about the airbag system to be provided on both sides of the sun visor. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Maserati has made changes to ensure that all new vehicles have the airbag warning labels installed correctly.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire inflation pressure label lists the wrong cold tire pressure for the tires. The pressures are below what is recommended for the load limit listed. Canadian regulations require the recommended inflation pressures to be listed on the label. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect vehicle safety. The vehicles are equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which will turn on the warning light if the tire pressure drops below the minimum safe inflation pressure. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. Maserati has made changes to ensure that all new vehicles have the correct tire inflation pressure on the label.
Issue: On certain vehicles built with LED headlights and an Adaptive Front Lighting System, the headlights may not be aimed correctly. Safety Risk: Headlights that are not aimed properly could cause reduced visibility as well as glare for oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Maserati will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to adjust the headlights as necessary.
Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2019 Levante vehicles equipped with full LED headlights with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS). The headlights may be misadjusted above the maximum height allowed, possibly impairing other driver's visibility on the roadway. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Affecting the visibility of oncoming traffic can increase the risk of a crash.
Maserati will notify owners, and dealers will adjust the headlights, free of charge. The recall began August 20, 2019. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 387.
