Summary

Certain vehicles could experience inadvertent or non-crash driver front air bag deployment. This deployment could occur during vehicle startup, while the vehicle is parked or idling, or while in operation. Should the air bag deploy when the driver is up against or very close to the air bag, serious injuries could be sustained. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver side air bag module.

This could cause the brake hose(s) to wear through, resulting in loss of brake fluid and eventual loss of the braking system. This could result in increased stopping distances and a possible crash without prior warning. THE FOUR (4) STEERING COLUMN SUPPORT BRACKET ATTACHING BOLTS ON THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH LESS THAN THE SPECIFIED TORQUE. IF THE BOLTS ARE NOT PROPERLY TORQUED, THEY MAY VIBRATE AND BECOME LOOSE OR FALL OUT. IN THE EVENT OF A FRONTAL COLLISION, THIS CONDITION COULD COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF THE STEERING COLUMN AND INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR OCCUPANT INJURY. CORRECTION: STEERING COLUMN SUPPORT BRACKET BOLTS WILL BE TORQUED TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATION.
