Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera software.
Summary
Issue: On certain vehicles, if you spill liquid on the rear seat, the gateway control module could be damaged. If this happens, the vehicle may enter emergency mode and suddenly lose power to the wheels. Note: The power steering and braking systems will continue to work. You may also see warning messages on the instrument panel when this happens. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels may increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install a protective cover on the gateway control module.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the fuel level sender may get stuck. If this happens, the fuel gauge can show a higher fuel level than what is actually in the fuel tank. This could cause a driver to believe there is fuel when the tank is empty. As a result, the vehicle could run out of fuel and stall. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the fuel level sensor.
Summary
Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear wheel alignment was not checked during recall 42L1 (Transport Canada Recall 2021-249). As a result, the steering could pull to one side or another and the tires could wear unevenly. If you continue to drive the vehicle in this condition, there may be reduced traction. Eventually, a tire could fail and lose air pressure. Safety Risk: A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment, as necessary. Additionally, the dealer will inspect the rear tires for premature and uneven wear due to this issue, and replace them if necessary.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the lock nuts for the rear trailing arm bolts may be defective. If a nut breaks, there could be sudden changes in rear wheel alignment. This can cause a loss of vehicle stability. Safety Risk: Reduced vehicle stability could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rear trailing arm lock nuts. If necessary, the associated bolt(s) will be replaced as well.

This could also cause plastic pieces to be propelled toward vehicle occupants when the airbag inflates. Safety Risk: The passenger-front airbag may not open and inflate properly in a crash, and plastic pieces could be propelled towards the vehicle occupants. This could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the passenger-front airbag score line in the instrument panel and repair it, if necessary.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire information label includes the specifications and inflation pressure for a spare tire. As the vehicles are not equipped with a spare tire, the label should indicate ‘none’. Canadian regulations require a company to provide information about the inflation pressures for tires that a vehicles equipped with. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Action: This is not a recall. The company has made changes to ensure that all new vehicles have the correct information printed on the tire information label.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the leather-covered instrument panel may not have the correct split lines for the passenger airbag. As a result, the passenger airbag may not inflate properly in a crash. It could also cause small plastic parts to be projected inside the vehicle. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not work properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your car to a dealer to replace the instrument panel.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2021 Audi S7, S6 Sedan, RS7, RS6 Avant, A6 Allroad, 2019-2021 A7, and A6 Sedan vehicles. An incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap may have been installed, which can result in the use of the wrong type of brake fluid.
Potential Consequence
Incorrect brake fluid can reduce braking ability and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect the brake fluid reservoir cap and, if necessary, replace it, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 17, 2023. Owners may contact Audi's customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 47T9.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Audi S7, S6 Sedan, A6 Allroad, 2021-2022 RS7, RS6 Avant, 2019-2022 A7, and A6 Sedan vehicles. Liquid spilled in the rear seat may penetrate and cause the gateway control module to shut down.
Potential Consequence
A gateway control module shutdown will suddenly reduce engine power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will install a protective cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 20, 2023. Owners may contact Audi's customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 90V2.
