Safety & recalls
Full recall reportOn certain vehicles, the high pressure power steering hose could separate due to an incorrect clamp. If the hose were to separate, it could cause a power steering fluid leak, resulting in increased steering effort and potential for a fire in the presence of an ignition source. This could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a power steering high pressure hose kit.

Nissan North America (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2014 Murano and Murano Cross Cabriolet vehicles. The power steering hose clamp may not adequately secure the hose, allowing the hose to detach and leak power steering fluid.
Potential consequence
If the power steering fluid leaks onto a heat source such as hot engine or exhaust components, there could be an increased risk of a fire.
Remedy
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a power steering high pressure hose kit, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
