On certain vehicles, stress cracks can be initiated in the plastic fuel tank at the vent valve welding ring, the breather pipe weld or at the filler pipe stub. Owners may notice a fuel smell emanating from their vehicle. If these cracks continue to propagate, fuel leakage could result. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Correction: Dealer will replace the fuel tank with one of an improved design.
