Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.

Summary

Certain vehicles may have been built with a defective powertrain controller. If the powertrain controller fails while driving the engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the powertrain controller.

Summary

On certain vehicles, the front suspension lower control arm(s) may have been improperly welded during the manufacturing process, causing the welds to fracture. Fractured welds on the front suspension lower control arm(s) could result in a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, replace the front lower control arms.

Summary

Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS 101) – Location and Identification of Controls and Displays. The photo-sensor calibration of the instrument cluster panel may not detect day-to-night lighting transition correctly. This could prevent the instrument cluster panel from providing backlighting with at least two levels of brightness contrary to the requirements of the standard. Correction: Dealers will update the instrument cluster panel software with new photo-sensor calibrations as necessary.

Certain vehicles may contain loose passenger airbag inflator mount nuts inside the passenger airbag module assembly. In the event of a crash requiring a passenger airbag deployment, a loose nut inside the passenger airbag module could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Summary

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Dodge Grand Caravan and Jeep Compass, 2018 Dodge Journey, and 2019 Jeep Cherokee vehicles. The rear brake caliper pistons on these vehicles may have an insufficient coating causing gas pockets to form, potentially reducing rear brake performance.

Summary

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500 and Promaster, Fiat 500x, Dodge Journey, Challenger, Charger and Durango and Chrysler 300x vehicles, 2017-2018 Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles and 2018-2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid vehicles. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Compass vehicles. The front lower control arms may be incorrectly welded, potentially resulting in a control arm separation.

Summary

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2017-2018 Jeep Compass vehicles. The brightness of the backlighting for the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) cannot be adjusted. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
