Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the high-voltage battery cells could short circuit. Note: This problem would cause a warning message to be displayed in the instrument panel. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Volvo advises that you should set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 70% and that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. Volvo will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-233. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the vehicle software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Volvo dealership.
Issue: On certain trucks, the load lock clamps installed behind the cab could fail. As a result, the load lock bars could become loose and separate from the truck. Corrective Actions: Volvo Truck will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the load lock clamps
Issue: On certain trucks, the automatic high beams may not switch to low beams automatically. As a result, the trucks may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: High beams that stay on could cause glare for oncoming drivers and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: To reduce the safety risk, Volvo Trucks recommends you switch manually between the low beams and high beams until the recall repairs have been completed. Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle software.
Issue: On certain trucks, the center roof marker light connector(s) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the center roof marker light(s) may not work. Safety Risk: A roof marker light that doesn't work could make the truck less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the center roof marker light(s).
Issue: On certain trucks, the passenger-side seat belt anchor may not have been secured to the floor properly. As a result, the seat belt could detach in a crash. Safety Risk: A seat belt that detaches could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reinforce the passenger-side seat belt anchor.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the power liftgate strut(s) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the strut(s) could separate and the liftgate could drop suddenly. Safety Risk: A liftgate that drops suddenly could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Volvo recommends not to use the power liftgate function until the recall repairs are completed. Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the power liftgate struts.
Issue: On certain trucks, the interior door handle cables may not have been installed properly in the door latches. As a result, the doors may not be able to be opened from inside. Safety Risk: Doors that can't be opened from inside could slow your exit from the vehicle in an emergency and increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the door latch cables.
Issue: On certain trucks, a problem with the trailer body control module could cause the trailer lights not to work. Safety Risk: Trailer lights that don't work could make the vehicle less visible and cause following drivers not to recognize that the vehicle is braking or intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the trailer body control module.
