Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Jaguar dealer during Transport Canada recall nos. 2023-302, 2023-564 and 2024-073 may not be effective. As a result, another repair is required. On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery could create smoke or heat, which can melt or damage the battery and nearby parts. Safety Risk: A battery that overheats can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Jaguar recommends that you charge and park your vehicle outside and away from other vehicles or buildings until the recall repairs are completed. As an interim repair, a dealer will update the vehicle software to limit the maximum charge setting at 90% until the recall repairs are available. Once the final repair is available, Jaguar will notify you by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Note: This recall only affects vehicles without a heated windshield. Safety Risk: A windshield defroster that doesn't work may cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jaguar Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-voltage coolant heater.

If this happens, the software will reduce the charging capacity to 75% and direct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the battery module and/or pack.
