Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver and passenger-front seat belt pretensioner cable could corrode over time. As a result, the cable could break and the seat belt may not hold a person during a crash. Safety Risk: A seat belt that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the seat belt(s). The dealer will also modify the floor covering around the seat belt anchor pretensioner cables.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a problem with the connections inside the rearview camera. As a result, the rearview camera image may not display correctly or at all when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Note: For certain models, this recall also affects incomplete vehicles. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rearview camera.

Summary

Issue: Ford Motor Company of Canada is conducting a parts recovery campaign targeting a random sample of 2015-2017 Ford Mustang vehicles in the Montreal area built between February 11, 2014 and October 2, 2017. The driver and front passenger seat belt assemblies are being recovered to aid in Ford's analysis in support of Transport Canada defect investigation file no. 3280-38-20. Note: This action is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Safety Risk: No safety defect has been identified with these seat belts. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify select owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver and front passenger seat belts at no charge.

If this happens, the rearview camera image may not display properly when you shift to reverse. Also, there could be a problem with the connections inside the rearview camera. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rearview camera and/or inspect and repair the decklid wiring.

Summary

This equipment recall is for replacement parts that were sold or installed by Ford dealerships between October 2019 and August 2020. This recall is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Issue: On certain cars, the brake pedal and bracket assembly could fracture if rapid and forceful pressure is applied to the brake pedal, as typically seen during track and competition driving. If this happens, there could be a loss of braking. Note: This equipment recall only affects the following brake pedal and bracket assembly part numbers: FR3Z-2455-AA FR3Z-2455-AB Safety Risk: A loss of brakes can create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify its dealers of this recall. While dealers will attempt to contact people who may have purchased a part affected by this recall, if you have had the brake pedal and bracket assembly replaced on your car, you should contact the dealer that sold or installed it to find out if it is affected by this recall. Any part that is affected by this recall will be replaced, free of charge.

Summary

On certain vehicles equipped with 5.2 litre V8 engines, the engine oil cooler tube assembly may have insufficient crimps. This could lead to a hose separating, which would cause an oil leak. The sudden loss of engine oil could result in an engine failure causing a loss of motive power, and an oil leak, in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the engine oil cooler tube assembly.

Summary

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) 210.1 - User-ready Tether Anchorages for Restraint Systems and (CMVSS) 209 – Seat Belt Assemblies. Front and rear seat belts may have been damaged prior to installation and may fail to conform to CMVSS 209 assembly performance standards, and the strength requirements of the CMVSS 210.1 standard. These issues could result in the belts not adequately restraining occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace both front seatbelt retractors and pretensioners as well as both rear seatbelt retractors, rear seatbelt buckles, and rear child safety seat tether anchors.
