Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the emergency spare tire jack could break if it is not properly positioned under the vehicle. If this happens, the jack could collapse and the vehicle could fall suddenly. Corrective Action: General Motors will contact owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the emergency jack. The company recommends that you should not use the original emergency jack. Instead, if you are in a situation which requires its use, they recommend that you should call the GM Roadside Assistance Centre.

If this happens, there would be a sudden increase in brake pedal force required to slow or stop the vehicle. Safety Risk: Reduced brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the electronic brake boost module.
