THE STYLED STEEL WHEELS ON THESE VEHICLES MAY DEVELOP CRACKS AT THE OUTER EDGES OF THE WHEEL SPOKES WHERE THE SPOKES MEET THE RIM. THIS CONDITION COULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE THE SPOKES TO SEPARATE FROM THE WHEEL CAUSING THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND A CRASH COULD RESULT. CORRECTION: WHEELS WILL BE INSPECTED FOR SUSPECT MANUFACTURING DATE CODES AND REPLACE WHEELS AS NECESSARY.
ON VEHICLES WITH A PASSIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM, THE FRONT SHOULDER BELT RETRACTOR MAY NOT LOCK-UP DURING A VEHICLE CRASH OR SUDDEN STOP. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN, THE DRIVER AND/OR FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS MAY BE RESTRAINED ONLY BY THE LAP BELT THEREBY INCREASING THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY. CORRECTION: FRONT SHOULDER BELT RETRACTORS AND BELT ASSEMBLIES WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.
THE FRONT SEAT FRAME ASSEMBLY MAY CONTAIN AN IMPROPER, MISSING AND/OR MISLOCATED WELD. FRACTURE OF A WELD COULD CAUSE UNEXPECTED SEAT MOVEMENT. THIS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. CORRECTION: BOTH FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLIES WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.
THESE VEHICLES DO NOT COMPLY WITH C.M.V.S.S. 209 - SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES. THE FRONT SEAT BELT LATCH PLATES MAY NOT ENGAGE THE BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES OR DO SO ONLY AFTER WIGGLING THE LATCH PLATE, RESULTING IN A NO-LATCH CONDITION OR SOME DIFFICULTY IN GETTING A LATCHED CONDITION.IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR A VEHICLE CRASH, FRONT SEAT OCCUPANTS MAY NOT BE ADEQUATELY RESTRAINED. CORRCTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED AND FRONT SEAT BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES WILL BE REPLACED AS REQUIRED.
SMALL CREASES ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FUEL TANK MAY FATIGUE AND CRACK RESULTING IN A FUEL LEAK. IF THE LEAK IS UNDETECTED AND THERE IS AN EXTERNAL SOURCE OF IGNITION, A FIRE COULD RESULT. CORRECTION: VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED AND FUEL TANKS REPLACED AS REQUIRED.
CERTAIN REPLACEMENT FUEL FILTERS, FRAM BRAND NAME P/N G3727, WITH DATE CODES X52911 THROUGH X60801 SEQUENTIALLY OR X600141 AND A MEXICO COUNTRY OR ORIGIN MARKING ON THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 18, 2005, THROUGH MARCH 21, 2006, SOLD FOR USE ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE AND ON CERTAIN SCHOOL BUSES. (TO SEE THE SCHOOL BUS ENGINE SIZES, CLICK ON "DOCUMENT SEARCH" AND THEN "BUS APPLICATIONS"). THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL FILTER WAS NOT MANUFACTURED TO HONEYWELL'S SPECIFICATION. AS A RESULT, THE O-RING MAY NOT SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE FUEL LINE.
THIS CONDITION MAY CAUSE AN INADEQUATE SEAL AT THE CONNECTION, POTENTIALLY LEADING TO A FUEL LEAK. IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD OCCUR.
HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).
THE STYLED STEEL WHEELS CAN HAVE CRACKS DEVELOPING AT THE OUTER EDGES OF THE WHEEL WHERE THE SPOKES MEET THE RIM. THE CRACKS PROPAGATE FROM EACH SIDE OF A SPOKE TOWARD EACH OTHER, AND EVENTUALLY MEET. THE MEETING OF THE CRACKS RESULTS IN COMPLETE SEAPARATION OF A SPOKE FROM THE WHEEL.
THE CRACKING CONDITION CAN OCCUR ON EVERY SPOKE ON THEWHEEL, CAUSING COMPLETE SEPARATION OF THE WHEEL FROM THE VEHICLE, AND RESULTINGIN LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKING CONTROL.
REPLACE THE INVOLVED WHEEL ASSEMBLIES.
THE FRONT SHOULDER BELT RETRACTORS MAY HAVE REDUCED SENSITIVITY OF THE LOCK-UP FEATURE AND WOULD NOT FUNCTION IN A SUDDEN DECELERATION OR CRASH.
FAILURE OF THE SHOULDER BELT RETRACTOR WOULD RESULT INTHE SEAT OCCUPANT ONLY BEING RESTRAINED BY THE LAP BELT IN A CRASH OR SUDDENSTOP, AND AN INCREASED POSSIBILITY OF INJURY.
THE FRONT SEAT FRAME ASSEMBLY MAY CONTAIN AN IMPROPER, MISSING AND/OR MISLOCATED WELD THAT COULD FRACTURE.
THIS COULD CAUSE UNEXPECTED SEAT MOVEMENT AND RESULT INPERSONAL INJURY AND/OR LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE CAR.
REPLACE BOTH FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLIES.
FRONT SEAT BELT LATCH PLATES MAY NOT ENGAGE THE BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES.
IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, UNBELTED OR IMPROPERLY BELTEDOCCUPANTS ARE MORE AT RISK TO INJURY THAN IF BELTS ARE PROPERLY BUCKLED.
REPLACE IMPROPERLY FUNCTIONING BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES.
