General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV vehicles. The rear parking brake wiring harness may become damaged or corroded, resulting in unintended activation of the parking brake or loss of the parking brake function.
Unintended activation of the parking brake while driving increases the risk of a crash. Loss of the parking brake function while parked can result in a rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the harness and, if necessary, reroute the harness and install anti-abrasive tape. Any harness that has existing damage will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 1, 2025. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N252503010.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the parking brake wiring harness could become damaged and/or corroded. If this happens, the parking brake may not work and the vehicle could roll away when it's parked. This problem could also cause the parking brake to apply suddenly while driving. Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Additionally, a parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, reroute the wiring harness. If the harness is damaged, it will be replaced.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the door strikers may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the strikers could break and cause the doors to open while driving or in a crash. Safety Risk: A door that opens suddenly while driving or in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: None of the affected vehicles have been delivered to customers. General Motors will instruct dealers to replace the door strikers and bolts before each vehicle is delivered.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, and Equinox vehicles. The door strikers were not properly heat-treated, which can cause them to break.
A broken door striker can cause the door to open unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will replace all four side door strikers and attachment bolts, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still in dealership inventory and therefore no owner notification letters are expected to be mailed. Owners may call Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242477131.
