Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 12" instrument panel cluster. This recall also affects certain RAM 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cab incomplete vehicles. Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause an incorrect tire inflation pressure message to appear on the instrument panel. The message incorrectly states to inflate to 50 psi instead of the recommended tire pressure. This information could lead you to overinflate the tires and cause poor handling and/or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster (IPC) software.
Issue: On certain trucks, a software problem could cause the headlamps to turn off. As a result, the vehicles don't meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A loss of headlamps can reduce visibility and could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the headlamp module software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the front wheel hub encoder rings may have been damaged during production and could cause the electronic stability control (ESC) system not to work. As a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: An electronic stability control system that doesn't work could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the front wheel bearing hubs.
