Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the bolts connecting the high-pressure fuel pump to the engine may not have been tightened properly. As a result, fuel could leak. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Bentley will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-pressure fuel pump.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the rivets that attach the airbag deflector brackets to the front seat frames may have sharp edges. As a result, the side airbags could be damaged during deployment, and may not inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that doesn't inflate properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Bentley will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the front seats. Any sharp edges found on the airbag deflector bracket rivets will be removed.
Issue: On certain vehicles, water could leak into the external coolant pump for the climate control system and cause a short circuit. If this happens, the pump and wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Bentley will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to replace the external coolant pump. Additionally, the connections for the pump will be inspected and replaced, if necessary.
Certain vehicles may have a loose electrical connection at the firewall junction. Under certain conditions, this connection could overheat, which would increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the original nut securing the connection with a new lock nut.
On certain vehicles equipped with carbon ceramic brakes, the brake rotor fixing screws may fail. This could result in reduced braking performance, which could increase stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the screws with an updated design.
Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The Daytime Running Lights (DRL) system does not meet requirements of the standard when the sidelights are manually selected on the headlamp switch. Correction: Dealers will modify the DRL system.
On certain vehicles, the outer surface of the fuel filter may corrode prematurely. This may cause the filter housing to become porous and develop a leak. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a vehicle fire, possibly causing personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel filter and reposition the retaining clip.
