Summary

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the engine starter may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the starter could overheat. Safety Risk: A starter that overheats can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Toyota recommends not using the optional remote start function and not leaving the vehicle unattended with the engine running until the recall repairs have been completed. Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the engine starter.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, water could leak into the rear door handle(s) and cause the door opener switch(es) to short circuit. If this happens, the rear door(s) could open unexpectedly while driving. Note: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2024-228. Vehicles repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A door that opens while driving could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Toyota recommends that you enable the automatic door locking function through the vehicle's head unit. Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to modify the rear door switch circuits.

Summary

Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image to freeze or not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall affects both Tundra and Tundra hybrid models equipped with a panoramic view monitor system. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the parking assist electronic control unit software.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles converted for wheelchair access by Vantage Mobility, the wheelchair tie-down retractors may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the retractor(s) may not lock automatically. If this happens, the wheelchair may not be secured correctly and could move in a crash. Note: This recall only affects certain Q'Straint QRT-DELUXE and QRT-MAX wheelchair retractors with the part number Q8-6200 or Q8-6209. Safety Risk: A wheelchair that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Vantage Mobility recommends you confirm the wheelchair is secured properly by attempting to move it before driving until the recall repairs have been completed. Vantage Mobility will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a Vantage Mobility service center to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheelchair retractor(s).

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the bolt that secures the third-row center seat belt anchor to the roof may not have been installed properly. As a result, the seat belt could loosen or detach in a crash. Safety Risk: A seat belt that detaches in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Toyota advises that you shouldn't transport a passenger in the third-row center seat until the recall repairs are completed. Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the third-row center seat belt upper anchor bolt.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, a bolt in the inverter assembly for the hybrid system may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the vehicle could enter a reduced power mode or lose power to the wheels. Additionally, if the bolt becomes loose in the inverter assembly and the ignition is on, it could cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the hybrid inverter assembly bolt. The dealer will tighten the bolt or, if necessary, replace the inverter assembly.
