Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could leak coolant. If this happens, the block heater could short circuit when it's plugged in. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-554. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to use the engine block heater until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the block heater.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the pivot bolts in the height adjuster assembly for the front seats may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the bolt(s) could loosen and detach. If this happens, the seat(s) could move in a crash. Safety Risk: A seat that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Action: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the pivot bolts.

Issue: Certain vehicles may not meet the minimum stopping requirements of Canadian regulations. In particular, the vehicle may have an extended stopping distance if there is a loss of power brake assist. Note: This recall does not affect vehicles with an electronic brake booster (EBB). This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2021-727. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the front brake pads.

Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the SYNC software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 22C27 (Transport Canada recall no. 2022-636) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. Under certain conditions when the vehicle is operated in 4WD-Low (4L) mode, the rearview camera image could reappear on the display after shifting out of reverse. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with an 8-inch display. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that displays when the vehicle is not in reverse may confuse or distract the driver. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update for the SYNC module to each vehicle. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-477. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the rearview camera, and modify the camera wire retention as necessary. Some Transit models will also require a software update.

Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera software.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the mounting flange between the external reservoirs and the rear shock absorbers may corrode and fail. If this happens, the external reservoir(s) could detach from the vehicle. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with Bilstein shock absorbers. Safety Risk: An external reservoir that detaches from the vehicle could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rear shock absorbers. The dealer will apply an anti-corrosion sealant and install a shield, or replace the shock absorbers, as necessary.
