THE PARKING PAWL INSIDE THE ATUOMATIC TRANSMISSION MAY NOT COMPLETELY ENGAGE WHEN THE SHIFT LEVER IS PLACED IN THE PARK (P) POSITION. IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS AND THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE COULD ROLL FREE.
On certain vehicles, the fuel hose connections from the engine fuel pressure regulator to the fuel rail and certain fuel hose connections between the gas tank and the engine fuel rail may leak because of hose deterioration creating a fire hazard.
VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH CRUISE CONTROL. THE CRUISE CONTROL UNIT WHEN ACTIVATED MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE UNEXPECTEDLY OR MAY NOT REMAIN DEACTIVATED FOLLOWING A BRAKE PEDAL APPLICATION.
THE TRANSMISSIONS HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED WITH A HIGHER THAN NORMAL RETURN SPRING LOAD ON THE TRANSMISSION LOCKING PAWL. WHEN THE PARK POSITION IS SELECTED WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER, THE PARKING PAWL MAY NOT ENGAGE.
DEALER WILL REPLACE THE PARKING PAWL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH AN IMPROVED TYPE AT NO COST TO OWNER.
