Full recall reportToyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX, and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
Potential consequence
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will perform an inspection on the #1 main bearing using vehicle inspection software and drive data, and if necessary, replace the engine. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 28, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB14 and 25TA14. Lexus' numbers for this recall are 25LB07 and 25LA07. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V381.

A tonneau cover that detaches while driving can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer. Dealer will install new hardware (bolts, spacers, washers, nuts, rubber washers and cotter pins) to the existing bracket and tonneau cover. If the tonneau cover has tears or splits at the mounting holes to the extent that new hardware cannot be installed, it will be replaced with a new tonneau cover and hardware. Issue: Over time, the nuts that attach the axle shafts to the axle housing could loosen and fall off. If this happens, one or both axle shafts could separate from the axle housing. Safety Risk: Reduced vehicle stability could cause a loss of control. Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances. Both of these issues could increase the risk of a crash.
