VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 302 C.I.D. ENGINES MAY BE EQUIPPED WITH FLEXIBLE SEVEN-BLADE ENGINE COOLING FANS WHICH CAN EXPERIENCE FATIGUE CRACKING OF THE FAN BLADES. FRAGMENTS OF THE BLADE MAY SEPARATE FROM A ROTATING FAN ASSEMBLY POSSIBLY DAMAGING UNDERHOOD COMPONENTS OR CAUSING INJURY TO PERSONS SERVICING THE ENGINE.
VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH CERTAIN EIGHT CYLINDER ENGINES. THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (E.G.R.) BACKPRESSURE TRANSDUCER TUBE MAY CRACK CAUSING EXCESSIVE LEAKAGE IN THE BACKPRESSURE SENSING CIRCUIT AND INCREASED EMISSIONS OF NITROGEN OXIDES. ALSO, ON SOME VEHICLES, AN IMPROPER E.G.R. PORTED VACUUM SWITCH CAN CAUSE SIMILAR INCREASES IN EMISSIONS OF NITROGEN OXIDES. THESE VEHICLES MAY NOT COMPLY WITH CANADA MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD 1103 - EXHAUST EMISSIONS.
LATCH STRIKER TO THE SEAT CUSHION FRAME SCREWS WERE IMPROPERLY PROCESSED AND ARE SUBJECT TO HYDROGEN EMBRITTLEMENT FRACTURE AND THUS WILL NOT COMPLY WITH C.M.V.S.S.207-ANCHORAGE OF SEATS.
VEHICLES PRODUCED DURING THE PERIOD OCTOBER 1974 THROUGH OCTOBER 1975 AND EQUIPPED WITH OPTIONAL GOODYEAR BR70-13 STEELGARD RAISED WHITE LETTER TIRES. TIRES MAY DEVELOP TREAD SEPARATION. (REF: GOOODYEAR TIRE RECALL S3344-5-7)
THE SEVEN-BLADE ENGINE COOLING FAN IS SUBJECT TO FATIGUE CRACKING DURING NORMAL OPERATION. PORTIONS OF THE BLADES MAY SEPARATE WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
DEFECTIVE FANS WILL BE REPLACED WITH FANS OF AN IMPROVED DESIGN WITHOUT CHARGE.
