Issue: On certain vehicles, the windshield glass may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, air bubbles could appear in the windshield glass. Safety Risk: Air bubbles in the windshield glass could cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield glass.
Issue: On certain vehicles, air bubbles could appear in the lower-left area of the windshield glass. As a result, the vehicle identification number (VIN) may be difficult to see through the glass. Safety Risk: This problem could cause confusion when trying to identify the vehicle using the VIN. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the left-front axle shaft may not have been installed properly. As a result, the axle shaft could separate from the transmission and cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the vehicle is parked and the parking brake isn't applied, the vehicle could roll away. Safety Risk: An unexpected loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create a risk of a crash or an injury. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the left-front axle shaft and the transmission.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver-front airbag may not have been manufactured properly. Over time, moisture could enter the inflator and cause it not to inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: An airbag that doesn't inflate properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver-front airbag.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the rearview camera wiring harness could be damaged by movement and vibrations. If this happens, the rearview camera image may not display correctly or may not display at all. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rearview camera wiring harness, apply a protective tape, and reroute it. If the wiring is damaged, the rearview camera and wiring harness will be replaced.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the left and/or right tie rod(s) may not be strong enough. Under certain conditions (like hitting a curb or a large pothole), the tie rod(s) could bend and/or break and cause a partial loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail. Due to a parts supply issue, Nissan will advise you to take your vehicle to the dealership only if you experience a vibration in the steering wheel or if the steering wheel is off-center. When enough parts are available, Nissan will re-notify owners and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the left and right tie rods.
Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the cowl area below the windshield may not be sealed correctly. As a result, water could leak onto the driver's side floor and damage the main body harness. If this happens, the wiring could short circuit and overheat, and various electrical systems may not work properly. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Electrical systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reseal the windshield in the driver side cowl area. The dealer will also inspect the main body wiring harness connector for signs of moisture or corrosion, and replace the main body harness and engine room wiring harness as necessary.
Issue: On certain cars, the right headlamp was not properly aligned when it was assembled. This could cause reduced visibility while driving at night. Note: This recall only affects cars equipped with LED headlamps. Safety Risk: Headlamps that are not properly aimed could cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your car to a dealer to replace the right headlamp.
Issue: On certain vehicles, one or both of the front tie rods may have be bent during vehicle production. This could cause the steering wheel to be off center and/or cause a vibration while driving. There is also a risk that the tie rod could break, which can cause a partial loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your car to a dealer inspect the left and right-front tie rods. If a tie rod is bent, it will be replaced.
Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the gear selector cable could come loose. If this happens, the driver may not be able to shift the transmission into gear, or may unintentionally shift into the wrong gear. This could cause sudden and unexpected vehicle movements. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the transmission control assembly.
