Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the daytime running lamps (DRLs) to briefly dim during idle stop-start. As a result, the lamps may not meet the requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: Daytime running lamps that dim could create a distraction and cause confusion for others. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the engine control module software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the centre information display software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the right-front lower control arm may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the ball joint could become loose. Over time, this could cause the control arm to corrode and the ball joint to separate. Safety Risk: A ball joint that separates could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the right-front lower control arm.
Issue: On certain trucks, the bead area of the tires may have been damaged when they were mounted onto the rims. Over time, this damage could create an air leak that can lead to a tire failure. Note: This problem may also affect the spare tire on certain trucks. Safety Risk: A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and replace the affected tires.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the plastic emblem on the steering wheel airbag cover could detach and become a projectile when the airbag inflates in a crash. For vehicles with over-the-air (OTA) update capability, Nissan will send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle.
