If this happens, the rearview image may not display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a panoramic view monitor system. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the parking assist ECU software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the combination meter in the instrument panel not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the combination meter software. For certain vehicles, the dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the combination meter.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system to enter a failsafe mode. As a result, the heater could stop working. If this happens, the windshield defroster may not work properly. Note: This problem could cause an "EV System Malfunction" or "Drive Start Control Malfunction" message to display. Safety Risk: A windshield defroster that doesn't work properly could cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the HVAC system electronic control unit software. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, the company advises that you shouldn't transport a passenger in the second-row center seat until the recall repairs are completed. The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the second-row center seat belt assembly.
Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the bolts that secure the front brake caliper mounting bracket(s) and the wheel hub(s) to the steering knuckle(s) may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the caliper(s) could move and cause the brake hose(s) to become damaged. If this happens, brake fluid could leak and cause reduced braking. Additionally, the hub bolts could loosen and cause the front wheel(s) to separate from the vehicle. Safety Risks: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also create a hazard for others. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten the front brake caliper bracket and wheel hub bolts. The dealer will replace any damaged components, as necessary.
