Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering gearbox may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, there could be a sudden change in steering feel and an increase in steering effort. Safety Risk: A sudden change in steering effort could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to add grease to the steering gearbox and replace the electronic power steering spring.

Summary

Issue: Under certain conditions, the battery voltage could drop when starting the engine. If this happens, the display audio system may not start. As a result, the rearview image will not appear on the display screen when reversing. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-041. The software update completed by a Honda dealer during recalls HP35 and HP36 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-041) may not have been effective. As a result, a second repair is required. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the display audio software.

Issue: This recall is for low-pressure fuel pumps installed on certain vehicles or sold at dealerships as a replacement part. On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start and the check engine light may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-679. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel pump motor.

Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the weight sensor for the front passenger seat may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the passenger-front airbag and knee airbag could deploy in a crash that doesn't require them to. Note: If the weight sensor fails, the SRS warning light would turn on in the instrument panel. Safety Risk: An airbag system that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership for an inspection if the SRS warning light is on. If the SRS warning light is on due to a faulty weight sensor, the weight sensor will be replaced. When repair parts are available, Honda will send you a second letter. They will advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger-front seat weight sensor.

Note: On Accord models, only the driver's side pretensioner could be affected. On HR-V models, both the driver's and passenger's side pretensioners could be affected. Safety Risk: A seat belt pretensioner that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Action: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the seat belt pretensioner(s). If a rivet is missing, the pretensioner will be replaced.

Summary

Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 135 - Light Vehicle Brake Systems. A problem with the rear brake system may cause gas bubbles to form in the brake fluid. This could cause a soft brake pedal feel and a reduction in brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will bleed the rear brakes.
