Full recall reportOn certain vehicles, the rear suspension tie rods (for alignment toe adjustment) may fatigue and fail. This could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace both rear suspension tie rods and perform a wheel alignment.

MASERATI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 GRANTURISMO AND QUATTROPORTE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 3, 2008, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2008. THE REAR SUSPENSION LEFT-SIDE AND RIGHT-SIDE WHEEL ALIGNMENT TOE-IN TIE- RODS MAY FAIL DUE TO INCORRECT MACHINING.
Potential consequence
A FAILED TIE-ROD COULD LEAD TO A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED TIE-RODS, INSTALL A TIE-ROD KIT AND PERFORM A WHEEL ALIGNMENT, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2011. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737.

On certain vehicles, faulty instrument cluster control module software may not allow the seatbelt buckle alarm to activate in the event the vehicle is operated with an unbelted driver and/or passenger seat occupants. Failure to remind the seat occupants to buckle-up would increase the risk of personal injuries or death during a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will install updated instrument cluster control module software.
