Full recall reportDue to a manufacturing defect, the High-Pressure Fuel pump may cause over-pressurisation in the fuel system. This could impair the fuel supply to the engine and result in warning light and a loss of motive power.
Potential consequence
A loss of motive power whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.
Remedy
Owners of affected vehicles should contact their preferred Kia dealer immediately to schedule an appointment to have the software update carried out, and if required, replacement of the High-pressure Fuel Pump, free of charge.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly could become damaged by heat from the exhaust. If this happens, oil could leak onto hot components. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 3.3 L turbo (T-GDI) engine. Safety Risk: Oil that leaks onto hot components can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Kia will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly.

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2019-2020 K900, and 2018-2023 Stinger vehicles equipped with a 3.3-liter turbo gasoline direct injection engine. The left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly may deteriorate and leak oil.
Potential consequence
An oil leak in the presence of hot engine components can increase the risk of an engine compartment fire while driving.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the left turbocharger oil feed pipe and hose assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 26, 2024. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC300.

Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Kia will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the high-pressure fuel pump, and replace it if necessary. The dealer will also update the engine control unit software to prevent a loss of engine power while driving.

Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Stinger vehicles. The fuel control valve plunger may stick inside the high pressure fuel pump, causing over-pressurization and loss of drive power.
Potential consequence
A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will update the engine control unit software, inspect, and replace the fuel pump as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 18, 2023. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC281.

The Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU), responsible for the Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control System and Traction Control System, can remain live even when the vehicle is switched off. If moisture enters the HECU, an electrical short circuit can occur.
Potential consequence
If an electrical short circuit occurs, this could result in an engine compartment fire when the key is switched off and the vehicle is parked. A vehicle fire could increase the risk injury or death to vehicle occupants or bystanders and/or damage to property.
Remedy
Kia Australia is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles by direct mail. Consumers should contact their nearest Kia Australia dealer to arrange for an inspection and repair of the vehicle, free of charge. A dealer can be located by visiting https://www.kia.com/au/shopping-tools/find-a-dealer.html Until it has been repaired, Kia recommends that the vehicle should not be parked near any flammable structures or in an enclosed area, i.e. not in a garage. Kia Motors America (Kia) recalled certain 2019 Stinger vehicles equipped with 3.3L T-GDI engines on August 27, 2020. On December 30, 2020, Kia expanded the recall population and added certain 2018-2021 Stinger vehicles. While driving, an engine compartment fire may occur in the area where the Anti-lock Brake Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) is located.
Potential consequence
An engine compartment fire can increase the risk of injury or crash.
Remedy
Kia will notify owners, and dealers will install a new fuse kit in the electrical junction box, free of charge. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures as a precaution until the recall repair is complete. The recall began November 30, 2020. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC196.
