Transmission failed without notice. Required full replacement.

Our 2017 Ford Edge that we bought for our daughter to drive to college already had the passenger read brake line blow out and ruin the seals on the calipers and the parking brake actuator had to be replaced. The pedal went to the floor and she couldn't stop at an intersection and she put a hole in the front bumper. There was no warning in the dash to indicate that there was a problem with the brakes. It just failed out of nowhere. We went to the Ford dealer we bought the car from, Alma Ford and asked them what they could do since that part that is recalled is what broke. They said they could not do anything because they have no parts and would not help us. We ended up having to take the car to an independent mechanic and pay out of our own pocket to get it fixed.

2017 Ford Edge, front axle and ball joint had to be replaced around 33K- still under extended warranty.. Now same or opposite ball joint /axle making click/ ping at 43K no longer under warranty, cant tell left or right axle/ball joint. Will have to take it in to ford at Melbourne Fl at personal expense.. Probably next month...

The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who was able to duplicate the failure and informed the contact that brake fluid was leaking from the vehicle. The brakes were replaced. The contact stated that the brake hose had previously been replaced. The mechanic advised the contact not to drive the vehicle until the recall repair was completed. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence and had not driven the vehicle since. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts for recall repairs were not available. The vehicle was undrivable. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,236.

Slow acceleration when the AWD system is needed, due to failure of rear differential. No replacement parts are available, suggesting high demand due to high failure rate, possibly due to poor design.

The vehicle was taken back to the same independent mechanic however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
