Issue: On certain Mirage G4 sedans, the airbag control module may interpret vibrations caused by severe road conditions and/or driving on a flat tire as being a system fault. This could cause the airbag system to turn off. If this happens, the airbag warning light (SRS warning) would turn on and none of the vehicles' airbags would deploy in a crash. Safety Risk: Airbags that do not work in a crash could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealership to update the airbag control unit software.

On certain vehicles, the internal self-diagnostic of the airbag control module may interpret vibrations caused by severe road conditions and/or driving on a flat tire as being a system fault. This would disable the airbag system. As a result, the airbags would not deploy in a crash that warrants their deployment, which would increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will update vehicle software.

United States records (NHTSA) · 1

These are NHTSA campaigns for 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Mitsubishi's Canadian VIN lookup.
