On certain vehicles, if the front wheels are turned to full lock, the wheel could contact the brake hose and damage the hose. If the brake hose becomes damaged, loss of brake fluid in the front brake circuit may occur which could result in a partial brake system failure and increased stopping distances. Correction: A retaining bracket will be installed on the front brake hoses.

United States records (NHTSA) · 2

These are NHTSA campaigns for 1996 Mercedes-Benz S-Class vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Mercedes-Benz's Canadian VIN lookup.
