Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the pedestrian alert system not to work properly. Note: This recall only affects hybrid electric vehicles. Safety Risk: A pedestrian alert system that doesn't work properly could create confusion and increase the risk of injury for other road users. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the digital signal processor and audio control module software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the light emitting diode (LED) driver module in the headlight assemblies could fail. If this happens, the high and low beam headlights, parking lights, daytime running lights and turn signal lights may not work. For Nautilus models, this could also cause the rear tail lights, turn signals and parking lights not to work. Note: This problem would cause an "Advanced Front Lighting Feature Temporarily Unavailable" warning message to be displayed and the turn signal telltale to flash at the same speed as when a turn signal bulb fails. Safety Risk: Headlights and/or exterior lights that don't work properly could cause reduce visibility and/or make the vehicle less visible to others. Turn signals that don't work properly may cause a person not to recognize when a driver intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the LED driver module.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 24C43 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-776) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. When using the key fob "global close" feature to close the windows, a software problem could cause the window automatic reversal system not to work. If this happens, a window may not stop and retract after detecting an object. As a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A window that closes with too much force could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the driver and passenger door module software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could overheat when the block heater is plugged in. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L or 2.0 L engine and a factory-installed block heater. Safety Risk: An engine block heater and/or wiring that overheats or melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to plug in the engine block heater until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail. You can choose to have the dealer remove the block heater, or once the final repair is available, Ford will send you another notice to advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the block heater element. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the block heater electrical cord.
