Summary

Issue: On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the electric power steering assist motor to the steering gear may corrode and break. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. This recall applies to vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador). Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist may result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low vehicle speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the aluminum bolts with steel ones and apply a wax sealer. If a bolt is found broken or breaks during the repair, a replacement steering rack will be installed.

Summary

On certain vehicles, if doors fail to latch properly in the primary or secondary closed position, there would be no indication provided to vehicle occupants of the unlatched door condition. This could result in a door opening while the vehicle is in motion, which could increase the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant seated next to the door, or result in damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the vehicle software.

Campaign ID:2015259
Units Affected:6

Summary

Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection. The passenger seat occupant classification system (OCS) may have been calibrated incorrectly during the manufacturing process. This could result in the non-deployment of an airbag, which would increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash where airbag deployment is warranted. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the occupant classification system (OCS).

Units Affected:5

Summary

On certain vehicles, the wheel nuts may contain a manufacturing defect. The wheel nuts may crack and detach from the wheel hub stud when subjected to shock loading. Correction: Dealers will replace wheel nuts. Locking wheel nuts are not affected by this concern.

Campaign ID:2015076
Units Affected:127

Summary

On certain vehciles, bolts which fix the big end bearing caps onto the engine connecting rod may not have been torqued to the correct specification and could loosen. This would result in unusual knocking noises from the engine compartment. If the vehicle was to be operated in this condition, the engine could seize and stall, causing a loss of motive power as well as a loss of power steering and power brake assist. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace affected engines.
