Issue: On certain vehicles, the side curtain airbags may not have been installed properly. As a result, the airbag(s) may not inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: A side curtain airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Hyundai will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reinstall the side curtain airbags properly.
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Tucson and Santa Cruz vehicles. The console extension wiring assembly may be routed improperly, allowing the transmission to be shifted out of Park without applying the brake pedal.
A transmission that can shift out of Park without applying the brake pedal can result in a vehicle roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners are advised to use the parking brake when parking the vehicle. Dealers will reroute the console extension wiring assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 17, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 273.

If this happens, the transmission could be shifted out of the Park (P) position without pressing the brake pedal. Safety Risk: A vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Hyundai recommends that you should always use the parking brake when you park. Hyundai will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reroute the center console extension wiring.
