On certain vehicles, driving for extended periods in extremely cold ambient temperatures can cause moisture to freeze inside the throttle body idle speed control circuit and in the throttle body bore, resulting in a higher than normal engine idle speed, and the throttle valve not closing fully. This condition may result in reduced braking effectiveness on deceleration, which in turn could result in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will install a modified PCV hose and, on manual transmission equipped vehicles without air conditioning, install a condenser cover.

United States records (NHTSA) · 2

These are NHTSA campaigns for 2001 Hyundai Accent vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Hyundai's Canadian VIN lookup.
