Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the passenger-front airbag to deploy with too much force. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with the AT4X AEV (American Expedition Vehicle) option. Safety Risk: An airbag that inflates with too much force could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the airbag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a GM dealership.

Safety Risk: Headlamps that flicker could cause reduced visibility and could create a distraction for oncoming drivers. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace a module in the headlamp that includes the correct software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the lock ring that secures the fuel pump to the fuel tank may not have been locked properly. As a result, the lock ring could loosen and create a fuel leak. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, lock the fuel tank lock ring.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 GMC Canyon vehicles. The headlights may flicker while driving and while the vehicle is in park. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Headlights flickering can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace a module in the headlight, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 10, 2024. Owners can contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N242468880.
