Issue: On certain cars equipped with an automatic transmission, the shifter cable may detach. This could cause the transmission not to shift gears when the shifter is moved. If a driver attempts to exit the car while it is not in the Park position, and the parking brake is not applied, the car could move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the car could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing with an improved one. Note: The gear position indicator on the instrument cluster and next to the shifter will continue to work properly. In addition, if the driver's door is opened while the transmission is not in Park, the door ajar messages will display on the instrument cluster and chimes will sound.

Certain vehicles equipped with a manual transaxle may contain an engine control module (ECM) that lacks one of three levels of fault detection software. If a fault occurs causing engine power surging beyond what would be expected for the accelerator pedal position, the software may not detect the fault and may not reduce engine torque. This could allow an unintended acceleration or an increase in engine power output which, depending on the driver's reactions and traffic conditions, could increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the ECM with updated software. Note: The driver of the vehicle can override any such event by depressing the clutch and/or the service brake pedals.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles. The shifter cable may detach from the transmission, preventing the vehicle from shifting into the park (P) position and causing a loss of park function.
A loss of park function may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
Vehicles that were previously repaired under recall 19V293 will need to have the new remedy completed. Dealers will replace the shifter cable assembly and install a cap, free of charge. Interim notification letters, explaining the safety risk, were mailed November 6, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The shifter cable bushing may fail allowing the shift cable to detach from the transmission.
If the shifter cable detaches from the transmission, the vehicle may not perform the shifts performed by the driver. Additionally, despite selecting PARK with the shifter, the vehicle may roll away. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash.
This recall will be replaced by NHTSA recall number 25V674. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing, free of charge. The recall began September 5, 2019. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured July 25, 2015, to December 16, 2015 and equipped with a 2.0L engine and a manual transmission. Additionally included are certain 2015 Dodge Dart vehicles similarly equipped and brought in for dealer service between September 15, 2015 and January 12, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the powertrain control module that monitors the engine torque output may be missing a backup layer of software.
Without a backup layer of software, the control module may fail to prevent an un-commanded torque event, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2015 Dodge Dart Aero vehicles manufactured August 24, 2014, to October 28, 2014. The affected vehicles were built with a premium instrument cluster and Lowline Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The TPMS warning light may not illuminate when low tire pressure is detected. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 138, "Tire pressure monitoring systems."
A malfunctioning TPMS light will not notify an owner of an improperly inflated tire. An improperly inflated tire may experience a complete loss of tire pressure, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
