On certain vehicles equipped with the Air Cushion Restraint System (ACRS) option. An underhood wiring harness which is one of the means of activating the acrs in the event of an accident, may have been routed so that it can be pulled into contact with the power steering pulley. Should the harness cover be rubbed through by the power steering pulley, it could cause a short - allowing inadvertent deployment of the air cushion in the passenger compartment. A loss of control and vehicle could occur.
On certain vehicles, the secondary hood latch may not engage if the vehicle is driven with the primary hood latch not engaged, or inadvertently released. The hood could open to a position that obstructs the driver's forward vision.
