Summary

On certain 525I, 535I, 735I, 735IL and 750IL vehicles, the front seat center fold-down armrest may contact and damage the seatbelt buckle if the seat back is moved forward to an upright position while the armrest is locked in the down position (horizontal). If this occurs, the release button may be held in the down position, preventing the seatbelt from being latched during the buckle-up operation. Non-latching of the seatbelts will increase the risk of personal injury in the event of a crash. Correction: Front seat safety belt buckles will be replaced with shorter ones that are not susceptible to damage by contact with the armrest.
