Summary
Issue: On certain vehicles, an engine software update may have been performed incorrectly. This could cause trouble codes to not be stored when the ignition key is turned off. If a fault was present, this could cause a warning lamp not to light up the next time the engine is started. Safety Risk: A warning lamp that does not turn on may not provide a driver with important information about vehicle safety systems. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the engine software. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2018-662.
Summary
On one vehicle, an engine software update may have been performed incorrectly, causing diagnostic trouble codes to not be stored when the ignition key is turned off. If a fault was present, this could cause the warning lamp not to light when the engine is next started. This could create a situation where the driver is not provided with important information about vehicle safety systems, which may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. On certain vehicles, the brake rotor fixing screws may fail. This could result in reduced braking performance, which could increase stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the screws with an updated design.

On certain vehicles, the power steering high pressure line may develop a leak. Loss of steering fluid could cause a loss of steering power assist, which may result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Also, power steering fluid leakage may contact a hot engine or exhaust component, which could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the power steering high pressure line.
Summary
On certain vehicles, the engine can be started without the clutch pedal being depressed. Should this occur while the transmission is in gear, the vehicle can lurch forward or back, depending which gear was selected. Such unintended movement could result in property damage, or cause the vehicle to strike a bystander, potentially resulting in personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install a clutch pedal switch assembly.

On certain vehicles, the bolted connections on the suspension's double wishbones may come loose over time or under extreme loading. This condition could lead to a reduction in vehicle stability which could result in a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair the double wishbone suspension.
