Issue: On certain trucks, the fuel tank strap(s) may not have been secured properly. As a result, the tank could fall and fuel could leak. If this happens, the engine could stall suddenly. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, a fuel tank that separates from the truck could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash. Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause part of the rearview camera image to be blocked. Canadian regulations require the full rearview image to display while the transmission is in reverse gear. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with an 8-inch display and 360-degree cameras. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that is not fully displayed could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the APIM software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

Issue: This recall is for certain integrated trailer modules that were installed before delivery or purchased from a dealer as an aftermarket accessory. This problem could also cause the trailer brakes not to work on certain vehicles. Note: This problem would cause a "Trailer brake module fault" message to be displayed and turn signal telltale to flash rapidly. Safety Risk: Trailer lights that don't work could make the vehicle less visible and cause following drivers not to recognize that the vehicle is braking or intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of trailer brakes could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the ITRM software.
