   Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the SYNC software.

   Issue: On certain all-wheel drive vehicles, the rear driveshaft could detach from the transfer case and cause a loss of power to the wheels. The driveshaft could also damage other nearby parts, including brake lines. The vehicle could also move when the transmission is in park if the parking brake is not used. Safety Risk: A driveshaft separation can increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the bolts that attach the driveshaft to the transfer case. If any of the bolts are loose, the dealer will replace the driveshaft, all driveshaft bolts and other related parts. If none of the bolts are loose, the dealer will replace the driveshaft bolts only.

Note: This recall only affects vans equipped with short arm, manual fold, power-adjustable outside rearview mirrors. The recall applies to vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador). Safety Risk: A side mirror that loosens or separates could reduce rear visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the side mirrors.
