These are Transport Canada campaigns for 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class vehicles sold in Canada. A Canadian campaign may have no US counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in the United States, go by the NHTSA listing above and NHTSA's VIN lookup.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the power steering control unit may corrode. If this happens, moisture could enter the control unit and cause it to fail. This could cause a loss of power steering assist. Note: This is an expansion of Mercedes-Benz recall 4694202 (Transport Canada Recall No. 2020-617). This recall only affects vehicles that were originally sold or ever registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador). Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist would result in a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low vehicle speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the power steering control unit.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the occupant classification system (OCS) may not work properly. In some cases, this could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger-front airbag, even if an adult is seated in the front passenger seat. Alternatively, the airbag may not be turned off when a child seat is installed in the front passenger seat. Safety Risk: An airbag that deploys in front of a child seat, or an airbag that doesn't properly deploy in front of a passenger could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the front passenger seat cushion.

On certain vehicles, electrostatic discharge, when combined with a broken clock spring and insufficient grounding of the steering components, could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver's frontal airbag. Unintended airbag deployment, in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, could startle the driver, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or property damage. In some instances, inadvertent deployment could cause minor injuries to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will add sufficient grounding to the steering components. Note: A broken clock spring would result in a driver airbag warning message appearing in the instrument cluster, as well as a red airbag warning lamp illuminating.

On certain vehicles, the starting current limiter could be overloaded under certain conditions. In the event the starter is blocked, a very high electric current could flow through the starting current limiter during repeated engine starting attempts. The high electric draw could cause the starting current limiter to overheat causing the surrounding components to melt which would increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction : Dealers will install an additional fuse in the electrical line to the starter.

In the event of a crash, the rear seats may lift up from the body and the seat belt anchoring may not function as designed which could increase the risk of injury. Correction : Dealers will inspect and repair the rear seats as necessary.

On certain vehicles equipped with a 4 cylinder gasoline engine, a weld on the camshafts may not have been placed at the intended position. This could cause the camshaft(s) to break and damage the engine causing it to stall, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class recall questions
NHTSA lists 3 recalls for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class model year. That counts campaigns naming this model year, not recalls on your vehicle: many cover only a VIN range or production window. Transport Canada lists 7 Canadian campaigns for the Canadian-market model, shown separately.
Enter your VIN in NHTSA's recall lookup or Mercedes-Benz's own, or call a Mercedes-Benz dealer with your VIN. Cardog uses your VIN only to find the model year; the recalls shown here are listed for that model year and are not matched to your VIN.
Not necessarily. Transport Canada campaigns cover vehicles sold in Canada. For a vehicle sold in the United States, go by the NHTSA listing and NHTSA's VIN lookup.
Safety recall repairs are normally done at no charge by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. The manufacturer's notice for each campaign sets out the remedy and any conditions, so confirm with the dealer when you book.
Once Mercedes-Benz's lookup or a dealer confirms a recall applies, book the repair with an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer and bring your VIN. If the manufacturer's notice says not to drive the vehicle or to park it outside, follow that instruction. Parts can take time, so book early.
Follow the manufacturer's notice for that recall. Most allow normal driving until the repair; some tell owners to stop driving or to park outside until it is fixed. Cardog does not grade recalls by severity: the manufacturer's notice and your dealer are the source.
Manufacturers must notify owners they have on record. If you bought the vehicle used or have moved, update your details with Mercedes-Benz so notices reach you, and check NHTSA's lookup from time to time.
