THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN IMPROPERLY ASSEMBLED STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT LOWER COUPLING TO LOOSEN AND ROTATE ON THE STEERING GEAR INPUT SHAFT. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL COULD RESULT AND A CRASH COULD OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. CORRECTION: STEERING SHAFT WILL BE INSPECTED AND LOWER COUPLING WILL BE REPLACED IF REQUIRED.

United States records (NHTSA) · 3

These are NHTSA campaigns for 1995 Pontiac Firebird vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Pontiac's Canadian VIN lookup.
