Issue: On certain electric vehicles, a software problem could cause the pedestrian warning system not to work properly. Canadian regulations require electric vehicles to make a minimum sound level when operating at low speeds. Safety Risk: A pedestrian warning system that doesn't work properly could create an increased risk of injury for other road users. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS) software.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Mercedes-Benz dealer during recall 8297011 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-105) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles, the 80 A fuse may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the fuse could overheat and fail. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. This could also cause the instrument cluster not to work. Safety Risk: A fuse and wiring that overheats can create the risk of a fire. A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could also increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the main fuse box.
