On certain vehicles, in the case of a minor frontal impact (hood latch area bumped) it is possible for the hood latch hook to be damaged and not function as a secondary safety catch as required by CMVSS 113 - Hood Latch System. If the hook is damaged and the hood is not properly latched, the hood could suddenly fly up during driving and block the driver's view of the road. Correction: Hood latch mechanism will be replaced with a redesigned version.

On certain C220 vehicles, the cruise control linkage may not have been sufficiently lubricated and could bind, thereby not allowing the throttle to return to its fully closed position. A stuck throttle could result in loss of vehicle control and a crash without prior warning. Correction: Cruise control linkage will be replaced with a sealed and lubricated-for-life linkage.

United States records (NHTSA) · 1

These are NHTSA campaigns for 1994 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vehicles sold in the United States. They are not Canadian recalls: NHTSA's VIN lookup has no Canadian data, and a US campaign may have no Canadian counterpart, or one under a different number covering different vehicles. For a vehicle sold in Canada, go by the Transport Canada listing above and Mercedes-Benz's Canadian VIN lookup.
